WOYWW 163

Hi everyone, there's not much on my work desk at the moment as I had a laser iriditotomy on my eyes yesterday and had tidied everything up before I went to the hospital. Everything seems to have gone well, as far as I can tell.....

There are a couple of things out at the moment. One is a piece of card I attacked yesterday with my big shot and a new 'mask'. I've never used a mask in it before so I bought a couple of extras for the big shot (squishy black mat and texture plate). Then I attacked it with distress inks, clear embossing powder and mica powder. Not sure what I'm gonna do with it yet.....
Then, just above it in the photo you'll see the other thing I've been playing at...making flowers...
I've been using tonic punches. Talking of punches I got one at the craft show at Doncaster on Sunday. My daughter Rachel wanted me to get it from the Every Craft's a Pound stall (to make up 12 items for £10). I wasn't sure but thought hey why not? It's brilliant!
I punched it on white card and coloured with Promarkers, then added googly eyes...
And here's the BEST thing in my craft room...It's not on the desk, more under it...the lovely Lisa...
She's finally realised she doesn't need to sit downstairs on her own while I'm crafting...

Anyhow I suppose I should get dressed and do something useful...hehe give me half hour and I'll be back in here no doubt. Thanks for visiting and why not pop over to Julia's stamping ground  and see what everyone else is up to... Happy crafting

Helen xx

  1. In my 2nd week of snooping, great fun. Love the colours you have achieved on your card. Must say you have still been busy before your laser treatment. francesca #93

  3. I had surgery for a dethatch retina a couple of years back so I know what a scary time it can be for you. I’m glad to hear that your treatment went well though and hopefully everything will be back to normal for you soon.
I never knew you could put masks through a Big Shot, I’ll have to have a go with my Cuttlebug because I love the results you’ve achieved.
Your crafting companion looks very settled under your desk there. I often have a furry friend in residence too when I’m crafting, in the form of BoJangles, my puddy cat. They have to be close don’t they.
    Happy Crafting!

  4. The mica shine lifts the masked piece to another level. I think the monkey is just great, and as for Lisa - well I love the company of my two furry friends in my craft room, and I am sure you do too. As long as you don't trip over her with paints and inks in your hands! Kate #131

  9. I love using masks to emboss and like that one a lot. And those sweet little flowers - have the punches, never seem to use them. The monkey would fit a layout for my DD perfectly - I call her MONKEY all the time (and Muffin, and SweetPea and sometimes BRAT). Hope your eyes feel better soon.

  10. Great result with the mask - I love reflective/iridescent finishes. Lovely flowers too - I'm making flowers at the moment, too. Sorry you've had to have laser treatment and hope everything is going on OK now.

    Happy belated WOYWW,
