Floating by

Hi everyone, there's a new challenge over at Aud Sentiments. This time we want to see a card for a child and don't forget the sentiment. Here's my DT card...

I've used an image from one of our sponsors, Doodle Pantry. The other sponsor this challenge is Digis by Kris.

I've coloured using copics cutting the image out with a Spellbinder scalloped oval die. I've cut the sentiment out using a memory box cloud die, adding more clouds, including one in the smaller size, to make the background.

I hope you'll join us for this challenge. See you soon.

A birthday bunny

Hi everyone, it's been a few days since I've blogged. I haven't really spent much time in my craft room till today...Here's a simple card I've made for a friend who I've known for a long time now as my late husband used to work with him many years ago...

The image is called 'Happy Harvest' and is by Helz Cuppleditch. The recipient loves gardening. I've coloured using copics. It's the first time I've used this stamp so I'm really pleased with the result. I've displayed him using a Spellbinder Timeless Rectangle. I used part of the Ornamental Tags Two die to display the sentiment, inked through with Bundled Sage distress ink. The card blank is a coloured one which must have come free with a magazine at some point. I kept it CAS so the image could take centre stage. Hope you like it.

I would like to enter this for the following:-
Stamp and Creatwe - Fur or feathers
The Pink Elephant - CAS
Stamping Sensations - The great outdoors
Speedy Fox and Friends - Bunny or Easter

Thanks for visiting. I hope you'll come again soon.

Happy crafting

Bamboo - A flower for you

Hi everyone, I've managed to assemble the card I started a few days ago, before the Fibromyalgia flared. It's for my daughter to give to one of her friends and is from the Party Paws range from Crafters Companion. I just had to get this stamp (and a few more...) as my daughter adores Pandas...and they're just sooo cute! Here's what I came up with...

I've coloured with copics and have layered up the flower, his hands and the butterfly....here's a close up...

The backing paper is from Wild Rose (Girly polka dots) and has been distressed at the edges with a Tim Holtz tool. The image has been displayed on a Spellbinder Decorative label 22. The sentiment, which came with the image, has been displayed on a Spellbinder Timeless Rectangle. I've added a flower to complement the one in the image, adding a Cheery Lynn Tropical Flourish, which has been snipped and rearranged slightly. I popped a heart shaped doily (from The Hobby House) behind the image and a double bow and card candi to finish. I really pleased how this turned out, especially the little Panda. Hope you like it too.

I would like to enter this for the following:-
Lacy Sunshine - Layer it up

Bearly Mine - Anything goes

Thanks for looking. I hope to be back soon. Happy crafting

Shaped cards for Dutch Dare

Hi everyone, just a quick post today. I wanted to share my DT card for the new challenge over at Dutch Dare. We want to see your shaped cards, no plain rectangles or squares. Here's mine...

The image is from our fab sponsor and has been coloured with copics.

I've used 'Fluff' on the beer heads and glossy accents on the glasses. I've used various Spellbinder dies and used a large go kreate die to make the card blank. The distressing ink is Frayed Burlap.

I hope you'll take a look at the Challenge. See you again soon

Easter with Ruby's Rainbow

Hi everyone, I hope you're all well. It's time for a new challenge over at Ruby's Rainbow and this time the theme is Easter. Here's my little piece of inspiration for you...

I've used a fab digi from Lacy Sunshine, which can only be found here. I've coloured using copics and Atyou glitter pens. Here's a close up...

I made the backing paper myself using shaving foam and inks. If you've never done this check out the tutorial hereI've displayed the image using a Spellbinder Timeless Rectangle die, extending the black matting by drawing round the outside edge of the die. I've finished off with some ribbon from my stash, a sentiment using another Spellbinder (framed tags one) and an Easter egg embellishment which I've had for years...probably came free with a magazine at some point. I hope you'll pop over to the challenge and have a look what my talented team mates have made for you. You might notice that I've changed my name at Ruby's Rainbow...I'm the crafter formerly known as Ellie Wee....Sadly the other 'Helen' has stepped down from the design team so I'm now using my proper name.

I would like to enter this for the following:-

A bird for Sparkles

Hi everyone, there's a new challenge over at Sparkles Monthly Challenges. This month we'd love to see a bird on your creation. Here's mine...

I used some papers which came free with a magazine last year sometime. They're called spring jubilee by Pink Paislee. I cut out the bird and the butterflies from a second sheet and decoupaged it. The die cut bird cage started out white (part of my goody bag from the Summer Crafting workshop last year). It's been coloured with copics, stamped with versamark, embossed with white detail powder and then been distressed with Frayed burlap, as has the rest of the card. I've stamped a sentiment in cocoa momento and finished off with a few flowers and bits from my stash.

I would like to enter this for Use it Tuesday's challenge - die cuts, punches and cut outs.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you'll go take a look at the challenge...we can't wait to see your projects.

See you soon. Happy crafting

Paws-fur-a-moment birthday card

Hi everyone, I thought I'd share the card I've just finished making for my sister-in-law's fiance's birthday. As they have 3 cats I wanted to feature one on the card so I decided to use one of the Paws-Fur-A-Moment stamps which I bought last year at the NEC...

I've coloured using Copics, using a Spellbinder Picot Edged Circle to display the image. I've embossed a piece of Core'dinations Dark cardstock with a Sissix Leaves and diamonds folder, sanding the result. The backing paper is from Forever Friends Kraft Notes, edged with Forest Moss distress ink. The sentiment is Forever Friends, from the Best of British range and has been shaped using part of a Labels 3 Spellbinder die. I've added some ribbon to finish.

Here's a close-up of the image...

I've had the backing paper in my stash for years. I've matted with textured burgundy card which I've also used for the die cut around the LOTV sentiment. The die is one of my new ones which I bought from The  Hobby House last week, along with the silver pearls. It's called Ironwork Motifs and is a Spellbinder. I've coloured the image with copics, edging with Forest Moss distress ink. Here's a couple of close-ups...

Another Mother's Day card

Hi everyone, here's a card I made for a friend to give to her mum...

I used one of my fairly new Spellbinders called Decorative Labels 22 for the main panels, stamping 'Mum' onto the brown panel with versamark and adding Gold detail embossing powder. I cut out a couple of hearts using Spellbinders scalloped hearts die. I used a couple of different Boofle texture stamps on these and embossed using gold detail powder too. I added some ribbon and flowers from my stash and finished off with a Cheery Lynn butterfly with added pearls. The backing paper is textured but it's not easy to see in the photo.

Girls Rule at Dutch Dare

Hi everyone, there's a new challenge over at Dutch Dare this week - 'Girls Rule'. We want to see your creations for girls this week. We're being sponsored by the fabulous Lacy Sunshine and we were so lucky to be given an image to use. Here's my DT card...

This one is called Eleanor and Pickles Dinosaur and is available from their shop. Just click on their name above....I've coloured using Copics. I decided to make this one bright and cheerful to brighten up the dull days we're having here in Lincolnshire at the moment...I've added a sentiment and a butterfly both of which started out white and have been coloured using copics to match the image. I also coloured white flowers so everything co-ordinated well. In amongst the layers you can just spot my Marianne border threaded with orange ribbon. The spotty backing paper is from the Crafters Companion Toread cd (rapidly becoming a favourite). I hope you like this, I had loads of fun colouring her. Pop over to the challenge blog and have a look at the other fab inspiration from my talented team mates.

I've mounted the image on a circle of the backing paper and then a Spellbinder Stately Circle. The yellow panel has been embossed with butterflies using an embossing folder which came with a magazine recently. I finished off with a Spellbinder loveheart and some pearls coloured with copics. Fizzy Moon Beer Bear

Hi everyone, still waiting for a call. Sorry ironing pile...you're not getting done today!

Here's the card I've made for my late husband's dad. I know he won't find my blog so I'm safe to post it before his birthday. My hubby bought me 20 Fizzy Moon stamps from Create and Craft a few weeks ago. I couldn't resist this one...

I've coloured him using Copics and used a fab product for the head on the beer...it's called Fluff and is made by Woodware. It comes in a small bottle with a fine nozzle. Just add it to your image and heat with a heat gun. It's amazing... Here's a close-up...
I used Spellbinder labels 22 to frame the image, inking the white one with frayed burlap ink whilst still in the die. I've threaded ribbon through the image plate and wrapped it round a red corrugated square. The spotty backing paper has been in my stash for donkey's years so it's good to use it up. Gives me an excuse to buy more....as if I need an excuse! Here's a close-up of the layers...
The sentiment is LOTV, cut using Spellbinder Stately circles die. I've decorated the inside to compliment the front...
I would like to enter this for the following challenges:-

My first Toread - Xeru

Hi everyone, I've managed to spend some more time in my craft room this weekend whilst being on standby to take a family member to hospital....

I decided it was time to play with my new Toread stamps and accompanying cd from Crafters Companion. This little character is called Xeru...

I've coloured him using Copics. The backing papers are from the cd, printed onto smooth card. I've used Spellbinders Labels 29 to frame the image, inking with Forest moss distress ink. I also cut the same shape in the contrasting paper. The 'Brother' stamp is part of the stamp set, made into a tag with a Spellbinder Framed Tags One die. I used the forest moss ink on the tag and coloured some white ribbon with a copic I used in the image. The sentiment is LOTV and has been cut with a Spellbinder Stately circle die. I've added ribbon and candi to finish off. Here's a close-up of Xeru...

I've also decorated the inside to match the front...

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:-
Natalie & Amy - Die cuts
Addicted to stamps - use a stamp
Papercraft star - Happy Birthday
Simon says stamp - Anything goes

Thanks for visiting. I may get a bit more craft time this afternoon...or maybe I should do the ironing...nah..I'm sure craft will win!
