Work in progress

Butterflies

Flowers

Hello everyone, long time no see...... It's been one of those weeks, haven't had much time to complete anything, so I thought I'd just let you know I'm still here........

I'm currently working on a card for my late husband's Nan's 100th Birthday. As I'm sure you can appreciate I don't get much call for a card of such great importance so I really want to make this a good one. I've been busy cutting and quilling flowers (xcut dies) and have just bought a Marianne design creatables butterfly die. I've rediscovered my big shot after attending a class last Friday, my first craft class but definitely not my last.

Hope to be back in the next couple of days with the completed project.....See you all soon

Birthday Time (Girl)

Hello everyone, I hope you're enjoying the sunshine. Here is a card which I've made with a few challenges in mind.....

The image is from a magazine freebie - Lili of the valley Colour & Cut pack, and is coloured using promarkers with highlights in Sakura Gelly Roll glitter pen.

I have followed a sketch from Critter sketch challenge #103
Papers, aubergine lace, ribbons and flower are from my stash. I have made the flourish and flower's leaves using the Cindy Loo cricut cartridge.

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges

Hi everyone. I'm new to blogging and rapidly becoming addicted, especially to entering challenges. I made this card with the My Time To Craft - Bring on the cake challenge
in mind.

I've used a freebie docrafts stamp which I've coloured with promarkers. Backing paper is papercraft essentials sweet wishes 6x6. I've used a Nellies die and added ribbon, card candi, a small doily and stamped the sentiment onto a papermania paper shape using momento ink.

Forever Friends card

I have made this card for my friend Debby who I met at school many years ago and although we don't see each other very often we'll be 'forever friends'.

  • I used the Forever Friends Black & Gold Collection cd-rom which was free with Simply cards and papercraft magazine.
  • The base is made from A4 black card.
  • I printed the backing paper onto gold pearlescent paper and the character and greeting onto white linen effect card.
  • I added gold ribbon and a small gold butterfly made using the cricut sampler cartridge. I have cut two butterflies and stuck them together at the body leaving the wings free for dimension.
  • The character and greeting are mounted using sticky pads.
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. Please leave me a message to let me know you dropped by.

16th birthday card

This card is for my friend Joy's daughter April's 16th birthday.

  • The base card is white A4.
  • Backing paper is from Dovecraft Glamour prints 8x8 designer paper pack.
  • I have cut out 'April' using the cricut Designer's calendar cartridge. Size 4 and 1/2  script in lilac pearlescent paper and script shadow in a co-ordinating purple.
  • I added a diamond flower with stickles glitter centre as the dot on the i and a peel off happy birthday.

Vintage Birthday

The card blank is cream 13.5x13.5cm. Backing paper and frame are from an Inspirations Scrapbooking pack called 'Flower Garden'. The image is taken from a sheet by Jacksons and I've added a small doily, lace and gold ribbon and finished off with a punched flower. The sentiment is mounted on foam pads.

I hope you like my card. Please leave me some feedback. I'm new to blogging, and challenges but I seem to be rapidly becoming addicted.

Happy crafting everyone, Helen x

Driving test congratulations

I'm a very proud mum at the moment as my youngest daughter Nikki has just passed her driving test at the first attempt. I made her this card.

I used an A6 card blank. Backing paper is printed from a 'My Craft Studio' cd-rom called Occasions. The Forever Friends bear is from the Retro collection clear stamps Travel set and is coloured with promarkers. I've also added a couple of peel offs from my stash, printed the sentiment and added some ribbon.

Thanks for reading my blog, I hope you'll keep visiting.

Valentine's Day

I made this card for my husband Ted for Valentine's Day

  • The base card is white A4 which I have trimmed to 14.5x14.5cm.
  • I've added a background of gold pearlescent paper.
  • Using the Doodletype cricut cartridge I cut out 9 hearts from black and gold paper.
  • Using the same cartridge I cut out 'I love you' in gold paper and its shadow in black card.
  • I arranged the hearts in a 3x3 grid.
  • I love you has been added using Collall Coll Kit 3D glue.
  • I then tied a bow in black ribbon and attached it with the collall glue.

Thanks for reading my blog. I hope you'll visit again.   Helen x

Hi there, I'm new to blogging...

Hi, my name is Helen Parrott and I'm new to blogging. I've been making cards as a hobby for a few years now. I've also done the odd bit of scrapbooking. Here are a few of my past creations...

As you can see I like an assortment of techniques including cricut, decoupage and rubber stamping. I'm collecting promarkers at the moment...
