House Mouse Donut Transport

Hi everyone, I was so chuffed to win a prize on the last House Mouse Challenge that I couldn't wait to make another card. This fortnight the theme is 'Transport'. This little mouse is using a donut to roll along...

I used the House Mouse triple cd, also printing the matching backing paper. I found some contrasting card for the matting. I've used Sakura glitter pens to colour the 'sprinkles' on the donut to complement the spots on the ribbon. I've then chosen one of those colours to be the accent and added candi and a couple of mix and match paper flowers . The ribbon is actually a Boofle one and, luckily, I had a matching bow. Here are some close ups...

I've also decorated the inside to balance the card better as it was a little bit front heavy...

CAS Christmas Wishes - Boofle and Penguin

Hi everyone, just want to share a couple of the Christmas cards I made the other day. Here's the first one...

The cards are 5x5 card blanks to which I've added a panel of super smooth card fractionally smaller than the card front, edged using the chisel end of a copic pen with a ruler. I stamped the penguin first and then masked it whilst I stamped Boofle. I've then coloured using copics and added some heat activated 'Fluff' as snow around their feet. The sentiment is also a Boofle one. I wanted to make CAS cards as the images don't need a lot of embellishments, they're great on their own.

I would like to enter this for the following:-

Addicted to Stamps and more - CAS

Aud Sentiments - Anything but a birthday card

Animal Antics with Dutch Dare

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Dutch Dare Card Challenges. This week our theme is Animal Antics. We're being sponsored by the fabulous Sweet 'n' Sassy Stamps, who very kindly gave the DT some images to work with. They're also offering one lucky winner 3 digis.

Here's my little piece of inspiration...
I've used a gorgeous digi called Cocoa's gift. I've coloured using Copics. I'm really pleased how it turned out. The backing papers are from the Forever Friends 'For You' 6x6 paper pack, matted with black card. I just love the combination of black and pink. After cutting the image out I mounted it on a Spellbinder Picot Edged Circle, also making flowers in this 'spotty' paper using a Tonic punch, finishing with a button. I die cut a couple of ferny leaves in black to finish off the floral display. The sentiment is from a pack by Docrafts. Here's a close up of that cute image...

I hope you'll hop on over to the challenge. There's some exciting news about a name change for the challenge and we're also welcoming a couple of new team mates.

I would like to enter this for the following:-
Crafty Sentiments - Colourful
'ABC' Challenges - Lots of layers
Make it Monday - Anything goes
The Crazy Challenge - Animals

Thanks for visiting. I'll try and share the Christmas cards I made yesterday if I get chance today but I'm getting my hair coloured later and I've got a banging headache for some stupid reason. Ho hum...

See you soon

Food and/or drink with Ruby

Hi everyone, I'm here to share my design piece for Ruby's Rainbow. I got to choose the theme this time and chose 'Food and/or Drink'. Can't wait to see what you produce. Here's mine...

It's the first time I've used this gorgeous stamp, coloured with copics. The papers are Docrafts Papermania Capsule Collection. I've used 'Faded Jeans' distress ink to bring all the elements together. The border is a Martha Stewart punch with a Docrafts bow added. The sentiment has been stamped with black ink and embossed with clear detail powder. I think this gives a cleaner finish than using black detail powder but that's just a personal preference. Its been cut out with a stately circle die. I was really pleased that I managed to get it lined up so well!! To finish off I added some silver pearls and a glittery 1 (this is for my Great Nephew Gabriel's birthday at the beginning of October).

Now it's your turn. I hope you'll pop over to the challenge and check out the wonderful creations from my fab team mates.

I would like to enter this for the following:-
Joanna Sheen - embossing
Nutcrafters - Spots and/or stripes
Cuttin and Stampin Challenge - Monochrome
C is for Challenge - Animals

Thanks for visiting. I'll see you again soon. Need to make another cuppa then get crafting...

First Christmas card this year

Hi everyone, I had a sudden urge to start my Christmas cards this morning. Last year I started them in January so I'm not very organised this year. I decided to use a House Mouse rubber stamp to make this little cutie...

This is the first time I've used this stamp, which I've coloured using Copics. I've had the backing paper for years in my stash but thought the colours went together perfectly. I've matted using lime green card and mounted it on to a 5x5 card blank. Here's a close up of the image...

I've made a flower using part of a Spellbinder snowflake die combined with a couple of the Picot edged circles dies. I had some pink card stock which was just the right shade of pink. I've added some Martha Stewart branches in lime green and finished off by adding some wired beads which originally came on crackers a few Christmases ago and have been waiting patiently to be needed. I also added a gem to the centre.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you like what you see and would like to thank all of you who are kind enough to leave such lovely comments. Each and every one is greatly appreciated and encourages me to keep on trying to improve my card making. I'm having a craft day today so hopefully I'll be back soon. Happy crafting.

Holiday scrapbook Lanzarote 2013

Hi everyone, I finally got round to starting the scrapbook for my recent holiday to Lanzarote. I don't scrap much, I'm mainly a card maker so this is a change for me. I've used a close-up of me and my hubby Ted to make the opening page...

Vintage card for Ruby's Rainbow

Hi everyone, I hope you're all keeping well. There's a new challenge over at Ruby's Rainbow. This fortnight we'd like to see your vintage projects. Here's mine...
I used the bottom corner of a 12x12 sheet from the Grace Taylor - Vintage Scrap Pad. I've edged using Frayed Burlap distress ink. I've added some ruffled last and a string of pearls, also adding a necklace to the lady. The tag started white and I coloured it with a cream copic, edging with frayed burlap.

I hope you'll pop over to the challenge and take a look at the fab inspiration from my lovely team mates.

I would like to enter this for the following:-
Make it Monday
City Crafter - Polka dots
Inky Chicks - Lovely lace

Thanks for visiting, I'll see you again soon as I have a couple more projects to share with you but, for now, I'm going to start planning a scrapbook for the holiday we just had in Lanzarote. I don't do much scrapbooking so it should make a nice change.

See you soon
