Good Luck in your new job

Hi everyone, I've plugged a portable heater in and managed to warm my craft room up enough to make a card for my lovely daughter Nikki, who has just started her first job. I've used the House Mouse project book cd to print the image and backing paper...

I've used Faded Jeans distress inks on the edges of the backing paper and the image. To this I have added a doily and a decorative die cut threaded with pink ribbon. The flower is layered up using some Fizzy Moon festive flowers (an NEC bargain), with a blue and cream rose in the centre. The small pink bow is a Boofle one. I've added pearls to various areas. I also decorated the inside of the card to match...

And here's a closer look at the lovely image...

Winter Wonderland - Dutch Dare

Hi everyone, it's time for amother challenge at Dutch Dare Card Challenges

Our theme is 'Winter Wonderland' and we're being sponsored by Meljen's.
I've used some of their gorgeous images to make my DT card.

I made a stepper card using a Hougie board (NEC purchase). The images are all coloured with copics with Glamour dust snow. The snowflakes are Spellbinders. I hope you'll pop over to the challenge and have a look at the fabulous inspiration from my talented team mates.

Make it Monday

Thanks for looking. I'm going to my mum's for a shower and a warm up now. The boiler packed in on Sunday and we can't get it repaired so I've no heating or hot water till I get a new one fitted on Monday.

See you soon

Cookie Monster Birthday

Hi everyone, I hope you're all staying cosy during this awful weather. I'm messing about in my craft room. I'm really lucky to have such a lovely husband who can fix computers...my graphics card went on Thursday and I've really missed my desktop machine. I have a little netbook which I use in an evening in front of the telly but I still love my 'proper' computer, so thank you Ted, you're a star (and it only cost £19.99, which is an added bonus!).

Anyhow, here's one of the cards I've made this afternoon. I've used my Cricut, for a change, to make this card for my nephew's birthday...he'll be 26, lol...

In the original he has the word Autumn on his banner, so I replaced this with the Happy Birthday peeloffs. The backing paper was free with a magazine and I've decorated the inside to match. I've matted with black card and the shadow for the cookie monster is silver mirri.. I think he'll like this.

Oh great! The boiler has decided to conk out on us, just what we need in this grotty weather. Guess I'll be ringing the plumber first thing in the morning and hoping it's nothing too drastic. Also my little netbook has decided to keep losing it's wireless, could be a dodgy network card....why does everything happen at once, and near Christmas (and my daughter's 21st birthday). Oh well..... Thanks for visiting, I hope I'll see you again soon.

Bingo time at Aud Sentiments

Hi everyone, eyes down for the next challenge at Aud Sentiments.

This time we're sponsored by The Paper Shelter

Choose any line horizontally, vertically or diagonally from the following grid...

If you choose the diagonal including the word 'snow' please remember that you must also include a sentiment.  Here's my DT card...

I chose Snow, Use the word 'Happy' and Die cut. I've used one of the gorgeous images from our sponsor, called 'CandySkiOutlines', which I've coloured with Copics with added Atyou glitter highlights and glamour dust snow...

I've added a die cut tree, which I've foiled using a Tonertex foil glue pen set...

I've used a peel off sentiment matted and layered to match the background paper, which has been in my stash for years. I finished off with some candi (another purchase from the NEC). Hope you like it and you'll pop over to Aud Sentiments and join in.

Shaped cards at Ruby's Rainbow

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge over at Ruby's Rainbow. This time we'd like to see your shaped cards. Here's my DT card.....

I've dug out my Glitter Girls cd for this one. It's really simple. You design it on screen, then print it out, fold and emboss the body using a matching board and then layer up the pieces for the head. I've added glossy accents to the nose and also the bid, which I then added glitter to. The buttons on the bib are card candi, which has been glossed. I've added a sentiment to finish off. I hope you like it and you'll hop over and join in the fun.

Thanks for visiting, see you again soon.

Christmas is coming...

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Sparkles Monthly Challenges. Our theme for this month is 'Christmas is coming' so we'd love to see your Christmas projects. Here's my DT card...

I decided to make a CAS card as I wanted to try out the Flitter glu and Mega Flakes which I bought at the NEC. The stamp is from a Forever Friends Christmas set, stamped onto black card and cut out with a Spellbinders die. I hope you'll pop over to the challenge and have a look at my talented team mates inspiration. We're sponsored by Lili of the Valley.

Diamonds and Pearls

Hi everyone, it's time for another challenge at Dutch Dare Card Challenges. This time our theme is Diamonds and Pearls, so we want to see your bling. Here's my DT card...

I've used a cute image from Bugaboo. I coloured this one months ago, using promarkers, and she's been waiting patiently for her chance to shine. I've added some hot fix pearls to her and matted using black card. I used a stencil and hot fix gems, both diamond and pink, for the love heart. I've added flowers, ribbon and pearls from my stash. The tag started off white and has been inked using spun sugar and dusty concorde distress ink. I wrote 'With Love' using the foiling glue pen, an NEC purchase, to which I added purple glitter.

This week we're being sponsored by

I hope you'll come on over and join in.

Birthday Wishes from Theodore

Hi everyone, I'm here to share a card I've made using Bugaboo's gorgeous teddy Theodore, he's so cute! I've made him into an 8x8 card...

I've coloured him using Copics and added Glossy Accent highlights (nose and ladybird's body). I've used some 12x12 spotty paper from the Grace Taylor Vintage scrapbook pad and matted with black card (this seems to have become a favourite). I coloured 6 self adhesive pearls using a red copic pen and added them to opposite corners of the image. Thin red ribbon has been wrapped around the lower part of the card and I've added a flower where the ribbon crosses over itself. The flowers were white and have been coloured using copics, with a black button added to the centre. The sentiment is LOTV. Here's a close up of Theodore...

Copics used
Bear - E33, E35, E37, E93, E95
Nose - W5, W7
Ladybird - W5, W7, R27, R29
Grass - YG63, YG67

I've used a Bugaboo image, which I've coloured using copics. The sentiment is a rub on and the spotty paper has been cut down from a 12x12 sheet. I've added a silver mirri butterfly (Cheery Lynn) for some dimension and matted using black card. The card itself is 6x6.

Thankful - Dutch Dare

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Dutch Dare Card Challenges

We're being sponsored by Robyn's Fetish and our theme is 'Thankful'. This could be a Thanksgiving card or any kind of thank you card if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving. Personally, although we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK, I just loved this image, kindly provided by our sponsor, so much that I made a Thanksgiving card anyway...

I coloured the image (called Tom Turkey) using Copics. The backing papers were free with a magazine months ago. The sentiment is computer generated and I used up some old yellow flowers from my stash, adding a few gems. I have used Frayed Burlap distress ink on the edges of the backing papers.

I followed the sketch for this week's Sketch Saturday.

I would also like to enter this for Make it Monday

Thanks for looking, I hope you'll go and see what my talented team mates have made for your inspiration. See you again soon.
