A crazy Christmas bird house

Hi everyone.
I hope you're all well.

I'm resting my foot having had a cortisone injection for Morton's Neuroma so I thought I'd spend some time in my craft room. I realised I haven't shared the card I made for my best friend Sue at Christmas. I bought the Tim Holtz Bird Crazy stamps from the NEC in November and when I showed Sue she produced a Craftworks Card blank as a challenge...

Here's what I made...

I started off my making a template of the various shapes, such as the eaves and the bottom edge, so that I could paper piece the actual bird house in two shades of brown. I used red double sided tape to add the white glitter to the eaves and bottom edge. I then added a die cut frame to the aperture. It's hard to tell in the photo but the frame is made of white glitter card. I added some silver bunting and a handmade bow with a snowflake charm attached along with a sentiment, decorated with brads. I've die cut various foliage, together with a pinecone and poinsettia. I've also added some wired pearls to the foliage. I stamped and die cut my bird onto super smooth card and coloured him with copics before shaping him and mounting him with glue gel. I've lined a wreath up with the aperture and secured it to the inside of the card...

She absolutely loved this card and has kept it on display even though its not Christmas anymore.

Animal Magic with Ruby's Rainbow

Hi everyone.
I hope you're all well.

It's time for a new challenge at Ruby's Rainbow.
Our theme for the fortnight is Animal Magic so your project needs to feature an animal of some sort.

Here's my little piece of inspiration...
I've kept it simple and made a New Home card using a topper from the Makey Bakey Mice Everyday Collection cd. I found some papers in my stash which went with it perfectly, also adding a doily and some gorgeous organza. I tied the bow with one of my Embellishment Attic Bowmakers. I've got 4 of these now in different sizes and have to say it's the easiest bow maker I've ever used, I love it.
Here's a close up of the topper...

I hope you'll join us for this fun challenge.
Thanks for visiting...now I'd better get ready to go out shopping with my two girls. See you soon.

Show us something new

Hi everyone.

It's time for the first challenge of the New Year over at Ruby's Rainbow.

I chose the theme this time and picked Show us something new.

You could show us some of the lovely craft stash you got for Christmas, or bought for yourself in the sales maybe, or even a technique which is new to you but please tell us what is new about your creation.

Here's my little bit of inspiration made using some awesome stamps from my lovely hubby Ted and some fabulous DCWV Gauze paper from my bestie Sue...

I already had the Tim Holtz Bird Crazy stamp set (from NEC) but Ted bought me the Crazy Things accessories stamps and matching dies. I've colored using copics. Here's a close up on the bird so you can see his groovy glasses...

I cut the glasses using the die from the set on some glitter card which packaged one of my daughter's Christmas presents. I used the gauze paper for the backing as this card is for my Niece's husband and I thought it was quite masculine (using a Memory Box die). I just love this stamp set. You'll be seeing more of it soon...

Now it's your turn. I can't wait to see what you produce.

Thank you so much for visiting. I'm going to do a bit of housework and then start to recycle this year's Christmas cards. I must be able to make some useful toppers or tags.
See you soon.

Happy 2016 to you all

Hi everyone.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope you've all had a lovely Christmas...now it's time to start thinking about the next one! It's never too early to get started on those cards and tags.
We've got a new challenge for you at Sparkles Christmas Challenges.
Our theme is Vintage Christmas Tags.

Here's my little piece of inspiration...

I've cut the tag using a Tonic die. I've had the little vintage postcard in my stash for donkey's years so it's good to actually put it to use. I've got loads more. I'm going to try to use up some of the stash this year as I'm getting a bit 'cluttered out' in my craft room. I think I may need a bulldozer soon if I don't do something, lol. I've added a spellbinder fircone and a few Martha Stewart branches along with a few pearls and a handmade bow. Now it's over to you...

You could win a fabulous prize from our sponsor for this month...

3 digis.

Thank you so much for visiting. I hope to see you again soon.
